The name seems to be composed of the words "אָבִי" ("my father") and "רָם" (lofty).
There are two people in the Bible called Abiram. One of them is a man of the tribe of Reuben.
"Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men." Numbers 16, 1
