The name "Bashemath" seems to be derived from the word "בושׂם" (bosem, "perfume"). The Biblical pronunciation is "Basmat"; today, it is often pronounced "Bosmat".
Bashemath is the name of one of Esau's wives; this is also the name of one of King Solomon's daughters.
