Gad
גָּד
According to the Bible, the name גָּד (Gad) is equivalent to the word גַּד (gad) which means "luck", "happiness", "success".
There are two people in the Bible called Gad. One of them is one of Jacob's sons, the father of one of the twelve tribes.
"And Zilpah Leah's maid bare Jacob a son. And Leah said, A troop (in other translations: good fortune) cometh, and she called his name Gad." Genesis 30, 10-11
