נֹחַ (נוח)
Boy
According to the Biblical explanation, the name נֹחַ (Noah) is related to the verb לנחם (lenaxem, "comfort", "console"). In Modern Hebrew the name sounds like the adjective נוֹחַ (no'ax, "comfortable").
In the time of the great flood, Noah built an ark where he lived, together with his family and representatives of all the animals, until the earth reappeared from beneath the water.
"And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son. And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord hath cursed." Genesis 5, 28-29
