This is a short story. It began when I started to have knowledge about all my surroundings, interested in what I was learning at school. At home, we had lots of books, and I loved those concerned with Geography, those about the Holy Land, not in a religious sense, no. I always felt attracted towards Israel - don't ask me why, because I really don't know - furthermore, after knowing our family roots are Jewish from centuries ago – even though I'm not Jewish.
Longtime after, when I was able to travel, I went to Israel... and then began a relation that still is open. Once, I asked myself, why not try to learn Hebrew? I never have planned to use it as a way to live there. There are some handicaps: I'm not a Jew, so, I can't work there, I can't live there but it would be a dream come true just to enjoy learning it. It was difficult to find in here, where I'm living, how to study it. But after surfing the internet, I found the key: eTeacher.
This is my second course in eTeacher. My progress, I think, is according to my personal interest. It is not work for only an hour per week. That never could be enough; it is also looking for material to broaden the knowledge received in classroom. Then, once in classroom, is like to stay in a little place of Israel, feeling away of my own weekly routine, dreaming of my next time there, trying to put in practice all that I've learnt. Just for that, my idea is to experience a big immersion in an Ulpan, there, in Israel. I do hope to do my best, because the direct experience with Hebrew deserves it.
