Shavuot

  Exodus 34:22

“And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the first fruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end.”

One of the most joyful Jewish holidays is Shavuot, the feast of weeks!

Some consider it to be the anniversary between God and the Children of Israel. Sure. But in Israel there are so many different streams and communities. There are religious Jews and secular Jews. What about the secular Jews? Do they also celebrate this holiday?

In our webinar we will visit a secular Kibbutz that celebrates Shavuot traditionally, like many other kibbutzim in Israel.

Hamsa

Hi Sigal, Your webinar on the hamsa was interesting. When I researched the Hand of Miriam on the net, it was thought to have originated in pagan times and symbolized a fertility goddess. There is usually a uterus shape in the centre. Miriam was a midwife and perhaps used this symbol to show her profession.

cost of current day Hebrew class

I am currently a student on the Classical Hebrew A course.I managed fairly well in the first semester, but find myself struggeling during the second semester. I am hoping to take Classical Hebrew B. I have been thinking that a class on current day Hebrew would help me with my Classical Hebrew. My Husband and I are both disabled and essentially are living on a very tight budget.I was helped us set up was only able to take the class I am now in only able to take my current class because of the kindness of the e teacher course staff who helped us set up a payment plan that we could manage with a little tighter budget at home. I plan on reviewing my Class A workbook sheets during the summer, and hope that we can save enough money to be able to take the entire series of Classical Hebrew classes. Thank you for listening . webinar

hi Sigal,
I am interested to learn more about Israel and the hebrew language. I tried to join the european webinar, but there was not a grean sign for joining in. For example on the 8th of november. I registered myself and uploaded the software.
Maybe it was canceled for this day? I was on time, but nothing happend and after a while they showed the new lesson.
How can I join in? Do I have to be a student in a special course?
I just started to learn hebrew over the free lessons and watching the webinar videos.
And try to learn all things over the website of eteacher.... ;-)
So its a first step to get to know your culture and lanuage...
Greetings

Apples of His Eye

It was yoffi being in the HolyLand for 5 weeks during June/July ! Israel the land and the people, is still the Apple of Adodai's eye, and the remnant is growing larger. More and more people are willing to talk about who Yeshua really is. Are you?

Yeshua

Yes! I would like to know who Yeshua is! I have a pretty good idea whos He is!

YESHUA

Good question. don't think the people here know who HE is but I do!

The Magnificient Israel

For sure Israel is the envy of people who don't value peace even in their households. I have been abled to visit the Holy Land and the reality of staying there still preocupies my mind four years down the line. My advise is that with the survival of Israel in the midst of all the real enemies of the world and after visiting all the Bibilical sites,Church of Sepulcher, sailing in Jesus Boat in Sea of Galili, hollocust museum, sodom and gomorah, capernaum, the church at Tabgha, gergesa,Bethsaida,Emaus,Abraham wells et al and having been awarded shalom badge to proclaim universal peace, my only advise to human brothers is that "live and let live" and universally LET GOD BE GOD. He is the God of all our ancestors and we should uphold their virtues even in death! Amen!!!God bless u.

Beginners

Shalom. Are these webinars also for beginners? I'm very interested in joining in.

webinar

I am already a student of your Learn Hebrew course starting July 29. Nevertheless I would like also to participate in your webinars. There are two problems:
1. I keep getting your webinar messages but always one day after the actual webinar. To learn what I could have participated in if..... is not the best solution.

2. I would appreciate to get a schedule for a longer time so I can prepare for the webinar accordingly...

Thanks

shalom,

I love Hebrew.

Hebrew

I love the Hebrew language too. It is amazing to me how so right it feels reading right to left. It all makes sense. For me it is pretty much a matter of getting a good dictionary to build up my vocabulary.
