 It was my first Modern Hebrew Lesson at eteacher, so i was little nervous. When the lesson started i felt relaxed and confident that i will learn Modern Hebrew quickly but i needed to work hard.

 My Grandmother Anna was a child shoah survivor from Hungary. Her parents were murdered and she was taken from her home at a very young age, so did not have the benefit of a Jewish education or the ability to speak Hebrew. As a result, my mother and I were not raised with knowledge of our own language and scarce exposure to Jewish tradition.

It is a sad state of affairs to be raised without ones native culture, and leaves you constantly asking "who am I?" Learning Hebrew...

 I have been studying Hebrew now for about two to three years, with eTeacher. It is an exciting experience and so good to interact with students from all over the world. Sometimes when I come to the lesson I feel that I haven't prepared well enough and I panic when the teacher asks me to contribute to the lesson and to read or to work out some grammar. Suddenly my mind goes blank and I can't think of what to say or what the teacher wants. But there is no need to panic--...

 I have wanted to learn to speak and write Hebrew for many years. I kept putting it off because I figured it would be very difficult, but a few months ago I gathered my courage and began seriously searching for a way to start.  I started taking my Eteacher course in January of this year. In the last five months, we have learned so much and it is all thanks to Carole. We have a class of 4-5 students each week, and Carole makes sure that everyone gets time to speak, ask questions, and learn. The group has become friends as we talk each week and learn new Hebrew terms.
