Even though I can communicate through prayer with the Almighty (assisted with Torah and Siddur) I wanted something more meaningful in my life. I purchased books in the past and participated in isolated 1-2 hour lectures in an attempt to learn this unique and beautiful language. It is my opinion that Hebrew is the language by which I communicate with my Abba in Heaven. I speak several languages and found it an embarrassment that I was illiterate in Hebrew, the language of my ancestors.
I signed with eTeacherHebrew program in 2009 and found that not only the teaching and learning techniques were innovative but the interaction in the classroom were very challenging. Although I had some personal problems after I started in 2009 and had to take a leave from the learning experience, I have come back and found a more improved and challenging way of learning Hebrew. The course is not a canned way of learning the language but an experience in which the administrators as well as the teachers are constantly reviewing and updating the system. The technical support is a strong link to the teaching program. These technicians are ready any time they are needed. My only regret is not taking the course in Israel while visiting, so that I can practice as I learn.
Perhaps one day I will be able to make this dream a reality. In the mean time, I highly recommend eTeacherHebrew to anyone interested in learning this language from the comfort of your home. My congratulations to all the teachers and staff that make an extra effort to make the learning experience a fun and challenging one.
